Disclaimer - Printing Rules Screen

Use this screen to view or modify which disclaimers that are to be included in the estimate reports.

Description of fields on the screen

Field Label Description
Disclaimer Type

This column lists the pre-defined disclaimer types. The list of disclaimers can be viewed by clicking on the Disclaimer - Text link in the profile.

General

This disclaimer can describe the claim repair and or settlement. The text in this disclaimer can be edited by selecting the Disclaimer - Text link in the repair facility or claim office profile.

Alternate Parts

Alternate Parts are parts from a database other than MOTOR, such as Aftermarket or Recycled. This disclaimer describes the use of aftermarket parts.

The text in this disclaimer can be edited by selecting the Disclaimer - Text link in the repair facility or claim office profile.

Preliminary Estimate/Supplement When checked, the selected disclaimer appears on the Preliminary Estimate/Supplement report.
Locked Estimate/Supplement When checked, the selected disclaimer appears on the Locked Estimate/Supplement report.
Unrelated Prior Damage When checked, the selected disclaimer appears on the Unrelated Prior Damage report.
Related Prior Damage When checked, the selected disclaimer appears on the Related Prior Damage report.
State Aftermarket A state disclaimer describes statements and text that are mandated by state law. These vary for each state.
Recycled This disclaimer describes the use of recycled or used parts.
Disclaimer Sources

Primary Source for State Disclaimer - This option tells the program the Primary State field to use when printing the State Mandated Aftermarket Disclaimer. The program defaults this to Vehicle Owner State. Make a selection from the droplist. If the state is blank in the workfile, the program will use the Secondary Source for State Aftermarket Disclaimer.

Secondary Source for State Disclaimer - This option tells the program which State Aftermarket Disclaimer to use if the Primary State is not in the Workfile. The program defaults this field to the repair facility’s state. Make a selection from the droplist. If the state for the primary source is blank in the workfile, the program will use this state.

Print on External Assignment Only (claim office profiles only)

General and Alternate Part disclaimers are not included by default when printing estimate reports for assignments that you receive from an insurance company.

When checked, the selected disclaimer text, from the associated profile, is printed on the estimate reports. This applies only to an assignment that originated from the insurance company.
